Rev. William Whittingham, who was the Bishop of Maryland when the parish was founded. He was an able and persuasive champion of “Ecclesiology” in architecture and worship, a harmony of the catholic and the evangelical. We use both the traditional Rite I and contemporary Rite II services of the Eucharist and Morning Prayer, with strong Biblical preaching, active participation by the laity, and, most notably for a relatively small country parish, glorious music led by a large and proficient choir supported by the new Cassavant organ and occasional instrumentalists. From time to time we also enjoy sharing special songs with the Church School children.
