Seven years ago, Immanuel Church decided to start a concert series as a source of cultural and musical outreach to our community and the surrounding North Baltimore County area.  Concerts are funded entirely by donations from parishioners and from many non-members . Hence, the concerts are free and open to the public.

Our concert series usually consists of two Evensongs, A Christmas Festival of Lessons and Carols, and two other musical events. All concerts are on Sundays at 4:00 o'clock in the afternoon (unless noted otherwise), followed by a light reception in the Historic Rectory. The November, December, and March concerts are in a candlelight setting. Concerts are one hour in length.

The concerts presented are varied and have included: Harpist Wallace Ford with Flutist Gina Eichmann, The Montibello String Quartet, The Boston Woodwind Quintet, a Barbershop Quartet, the Clipper City Brass Quintet, the Peabody Ragtime Ensemble, the Baltimore Mandolin Ensemble, New Orleans Mardi Gras with the Bourbon Street Ragtime Band (with dancing and sing along),  Pianist Mathew Lane with Soprano Rebecca Rossello, a Festival of Celtic Music with Jared Denhard Ensemble, Organist Nickolas Bergin, and others.

The proceeds from an offering taken at each concert, are used to renew a scholarship fund which partially pays for the tuition of a young organ student attending the four year degree program at The Peabody Institute of Music of the Johns Hopkins University.

The current organ scholarship fund at the Peabody is fully funded by the friends and relatives of the late Sheila Vickers (long time member of the Immanuel Choir), coordinated through the Friends of Music at Immanuel. This is called "The Sheila Vickers Memorial Fund."  The Friends of Music are dedicated to the growth and preservation of organists and organ music throughout the greater Baltimore area.
