Acolytes and Readers
Acolytes at Immanuel are those who carry the cross in procession and assist during the service. Both children and adults serve as acolytes on a rotation once every couple of months. We are happy to train new acolytes anytime.
Chalicists are older youth and adults who are trained and certified to distribute the chalice during communion. Chalicists generally carry the Gospel Book in procession and assist during the service as needed. Chalicists also serve on a rotation once every couple of months.
Readers are those who read the first and second lessons from Scripture and lead the Prayers of the People.
If you are interested in serving as an acolyte, Chalicist, or reader, please contact Mother Megan anytime.
